Pybus became the latest young addition to Bantams boss Stuart McCall's squad when he joined City in March this year. Pybus originally joined on a short-term deal but was then awarded a further year’s contract at the end of the 2016/2017 campaign. The attack-minded player had been training with McCall's side and playing for the reserves ahead of his official arrival last season. The former Sunderland midfielder left the Stadium of Light at the end of the last January transfer window. He had formerly been a part of the Black Cats' Under-23s side last season after an eye-catching campaign for their Under-18s the year before. Playing predominately as a central or attacking midfielder, Pybus netted an impressive 15 goals in 23 games for Sunderland's youth team in the 2015/2016 campaign. He was an unused sub in three of Sunderland's four matches in their Checkatrade Trophy campaign last season. Pybus has also been capped at Under-16 level for England.
