City boss Phil Parkinson says he is looking for his side to put in a complete performance this weekend when they entertained fellow promotion-contenders Cheltenham Town at the Coral Windows Stadium.

Parkinson is aware that the Bantams have needed to look to their substitutes bench in the last two league games - against Dagenham & Redbridge and York City - to help get them back into the match from a losing position.

Interval replacement Alan Connell provided the spark to engineer a three goal burst from City after the restart at Dagenham, while second half subs Zavon Hines and Garry Thompson played their part in earning Parkinson's men a draw with York last time out.

Knowing the undoubted quality within his squad, Parkinson is hoping that the Bantams won't be in need of another kick-start from the bench come Cheltenham's visit this Saturday.

Parkinson said:"Whichever team we pick for Saturday, we have to let them know that we don’t want to have to rely on the substitutes coming off the bench to lift the team.

"In fairness, if you look at the last two league games, that has happened.

"Alan Connell at Dagenham and Zavon and Garry at home to York.

"So the ones who get the nod for Saturday, they have to make sure that they play at the right intensity levels to give us the chance to win the game.

"We certainly have the capabilities of doing that – we’ve shown it throughout the season so far.

"At times though, we’ve perhaps dipped below those levels over the course of 90 minutes.

"We’ve had some very good performances over 45 minutes in recent weeks but we need to produce a 90 minute performance.

"We have to be ready to go from the very beginning, not after 45 minutes or 60 minutes."
