Davies and Reid still doubtful

15 April 2013

Bantams duo Andrew Davies and Kyel Reid both remain doubtful for Tuesday's mouth-watering Yorkshire derby with Rotherham United at the Coral Windows Stadium following injuries from the weekend.

After being named in City's line up at Chesterfield on Saturday, Davies had to pull out of the match after feeling an old calf complaint in the warm up.

Reid then joined Davies on the sidelines at the Proact Stadium at half time after the winger was substituted with a slight groin problem.

Thankfully, Bantams boss Phil Parkinson has reported that neither injury is believed to be too serious but, with Tuesday's match coming so quickly after the trip to Chesterfield and another big game against Burton Albion set for the weekend, the pair will not be risked if they are not deemed completely fit to play.

Parkinson said: "We'll have to see with the both of them really.

"Andrew's problem isn't too serious. It is an issue with his calf where it tightens up sometimes - it is something related to his back.

"Even on Saturday, if we'd have needed him, I'm sure Dava would have played. But with Michael Nelson there waiting in the wings, we had no reason to push him out there.

"Kyel is in a similar position really, it is just whether tomorrow comes too soon for him.

"We will have to see with him, but it is not a serious injury. It is just a case of at half time he felt a bit of tightness in his groin. Like with Dava, there was no point risking Reidy so we took him off.

"We won't risk either one of them if they are not 100% fit."
