Central League

Mansfield Town 3

Bradford City 1

Kick off: 2.00pm

at the One Call Stadium

Bantams striker Andy Gray featured for City's reserves this Wednesday as the club's second-string were defeated at Mansfield Town.

In front of the watching duo of Bantams boss Phil Parkinson and assistant Steve Parkin, Gray completed the full match at Mansfield's One Call Stadium.

Despite the defeat, there were plenty for the Bantams camp to be positive about post-match as their young side competed manfully with their more experienced hosts on a bobbly Field Mill surface.

Apart from Gray's inclusion, City's starting line up at Mansfield was made up of apprentices and trialists.

Apprentice midfielder Scott Brown, who has featured in Parkinson's first team squad in the past this season, netted for the Bantams either side of two first-half Mansfield strikes.

Mansfield's first came via a Nick Wright penalty before Exodus Geohaghon re-established the hosts' lead later in the half following Brown's equaliser.

Mansfield completed the scoring thanks to a header from former Bantams trialist Ryan Tafazolli just past the hour mark, although City were left feeling aggrieved slightly when an apparent handball went unpunished just as Calum Hepworth was about to race clear on goal ten minutes from the end.
