Late call on Davies

6 April 2013

Bantams boss Phil Parkinson admits he will probably have to make a late call regarding the fitness of Andrew Davies ahead of City's clash with fellow promotion hopefuls Northampton Town this Saturday.

Davies is currently being troubled with a calf problem which is believed to stem from a neck and back complaint.

The defender, who has started City's last five games, visited a chiropractor in Manchester on Thursday afternoon to try and find out more about the issue.

Fellow centre half Michael Nelson is in line to replace Davies should Parkinson decide not to opt for the former Middlesbrough man.

Parkinson said: "Davo (Andrew Davies) has to be completely right for him to play.

"There is no point risking him with the games we have coming up and the other options we have in the squad.

"Nelse (Michael Nelson) will come in if needed, we have no problems at all with that.

"He has done a great job for us since he's been here."
