A big thank you

14 August 2013

The football club would like to take this opportunity to said a big thank you to their fans for helping with season ticket distribution.

On the Tuesday prior to Saturday’s first Sky Bet League 1 home fixture of the season against Carlisle United, there were 5,000 Season Tickets or FlexiCards still to collect in time for the big kick-off.

However, with the extended hours at the Bantams Ticket Office and special queuing arrangements at Saturday’s game, there were no queues at 3:00pm as the season got underway.

In fact, the only queue in the build-up was at the back of the Kop at turnstile N2 for the FlexiCard cash gate.

This was rectified by switching the cash only gate at N1 to take FlexiCard cash as well which resulted in everyone getting into the stadium by kick-off.

Supporters are reminded that those with FlexiCards, who want to pay cash at the Kop entrances, can also get into the North Stand via the Midland Road turnstiles N9 and N10. Using these turnstiles takes the crowd congestion away from the area at the back of the Kop.

To illustrate the point, on Saturday turnstile N2 at the back of the Kop allowed 491 people into the stadium whereas N9 and N10 on Midland Road only took 160 between them!

Clearly, for future games, the Midland Road entrance is the place to go for a quicker entry to the Kop.

The Club also extends its thanks to the fans who have vacated the TL Dallas (South) Stand to enable the Club to operate a safer stadium with larger number of away supporters.

The turn-out from Carlisle United was very good and there is an expected capacity away attendance expected from Sheffield United on Saturday week.

Not only is the stadium safer under the revised configuration, it is also taps into an important revenue source for the Club as we can maximise the income from visiting fans without disrupting our own followers.

Everything else on the day worked well and much of smooth operation was down to the fans’ contributions and co-operation to making the day such a success.
