The Bantams are inviting City supporters and members of the wider community to join them as they host their first World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 27th September from 11:00am – 3:00pm in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The event, which will take place within the Bantams Bar at the Coral Windows Stadium, is being organised by City kit man Graham Duckworth.
After helping to raise thousands of pounds in recent years for the Bradford Burns Unit through his Bantamstrek group, Graham is now aiming to continue his admirable work for charity in the hope of raising vital funds for Macmillan, which will help support people living with, or affected by cancer in Bradford.
Bantams boss Phil Parkinson has been quick to back the coffee morning idea by saying: “Myself and the rest of the staff and players here at Bradford City are delighted to throw our support behind the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
"This is not the first time that Graham has given up his well-earned free time to help raise funds for charity, and Macmillan Cancer Support is certainly a very worthy cause to fund-raise for. We would all be thrilled to see as many City supporters as possible down at the Coral Windows Stadium on Friday 27 September attending the coffee morning and donating what they can.”
Graham and the team are inviting members of the public to attend the event to enjoy coffee and cake together, with the possibility of some of Parkinson's squad being there to support this worthwhile cause. All the money raised from the event will enable the charity to continue to make a difference to people living with cancer within the Bradford area.
Bradford’s Macmillan Fundraising Manager, Hayley Cooke said. “This is set to be an event not to miss. The money raised by Bradford City Football Club’s coffee morning will help fund vital local Macmillan services. This free event will take donations on the day to ensure through treatment and support from Macmillan no one should have to face cancer alone."
Macmillan Cancer Support delivers life changing services for people living with cancer. Macmillan Nurses, GP’s and other healthcare professionals work tirelessly in local communities to support people affected by cancer at the most difficult time of their life. In West Yorkshire, a staggering 29 people hear the devastating news they have cancer every day, and 14 people die from the illness daily.
