Highfield give a helping hand

29 August 2013

Bantams kit man John (Graham) Duckworth is to receive a helping hand with his next mammoth charity walking challenge.

Highfield Hotel & Spa in Idle, Bradford have opened their doors to John to allow him to access to their gymnasium and swimming pool free of charge.

The hotel's spacious health facilities will now help John as he prepares to walk from John O Groats to Lands End at the end of the season.

He is taking on this great and famous walking task to help raise funds for the Help the Heroes and Macmillan Cancer charities.

As part of John's charity fundraising for Macmillan, the Bantams are also inviting City supporters and members of the wider community to join them as they host their first World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 27th September from 11:00am – 3:00pm.

The event, which will take place within the Bantams Bar at the Coral Windows Stadium, is being organised by the City Kit Man to help raise more money for the charity on top of what he hopes to secure from his cross-country trek.

After helping to raise thousands of pounds in recent years for the Bradford Burns Unit through his Bantamstrek group, John is now aiming to continue his admirable work for charity in the hope of raising vital funds for Macmillan and Help the Heroes.
