Barnet 2 (Atieno 42, Oster 48)
Bradford City 0
Kick Off: 3.00pm

Attendance: 2,317 (479 visitors)

City suffered a day of high frustration as they fell to a disappointing defeat at the hands of Barnet despite dominating proceedings for the vast majority of the contest.

Registering as many as twenty-one separate attempts at scoring, Phil Parkinson's side had the lion share of possession and chances throughout the fixture but still failed to collect even a point from Underhill thanks to Barnet goals either side of half time.

Bees striker Taiwo Atieno fired home from close range to give Barnet the lead three minutes before the break when Elliot Johnson charged down an attempted Ritchie Jones clearance before crossing low into the six yard box.

Kyel Reid came on at half time as City, who were attacking down the famous Underhill slope in the second period, looked to get on level terms.

The size of their task was doubled with less than three minutes played after the restart, however, when Rory McArdle was dispossessed on the edge of his own area by Ricky Holmes, who then teed up team-mate John Oster to fire past Matt Duke from around ten yards out.

With Alan Connell and then Blair Turgott later in the half joining Reid on the pitch from the bench, City lay siege to Barnet's goal as time ticked by in an attempt to rescue something from the match.

James Hanson thought he'd given City a lifeline when he headed home Reid's cross fifteen minutes from time but the striker was flagged for offside.

Minutes later, Alan Connell fired over the bar from a decent position in the middle, while Nahki Wells, who had earlier poked wide from close range at the very beginning of the second half, and Turgott also went close.

City also saw two penalty shouts - one for handball, one for a nudge in the back of Hanson - turned away in the second period.

Wells hit the outside of Stack's near post with an acrobatic half-volley at the end of City's last real attack of the game - perhaps summing up the Bantams' day - as Parkinson's side left for the long journey north empty-handed.

HT: Barnet 2 Bradford City 0

90+2min: Wells hits the outside of Stack's near post with an acrobatic half-volley on the turn after the ball had fallen into his path inside the penalty area.

90+1min: Wells has space to run at retreating Barnet defence but his can only drag a left-footed effort from just inside the area wide of the target.

90min: There will be three minutes of time added on at the end of the match.

89min: SUB - Barnet bring on Jake Hyde for Atieno.

88min: YELLOW CARD - Fuller is booked for hacking down Wells down by the corner flag.

85min: After collecting a loose ball in the area, Turgott fires for goal but his effort whistles narrowly wide of Stack's goal.

83min: Reid's cross into the area is brought down by Connell but the striker's effort from about eight yards out rises narrowly over the bar.

82min: SUB - Barnet bring on Adam Thompson for Holmes.

82min: Jones' free-kick from just outside the area is floated wide of Stack's near post.

79min: Wells' cross into the area is flicked on by both Connell and Hanson but neither striker can get enough on the ball to power it towards goal.

77min: SUB - Really going for it now, City bring on Blair Turgott for Darby. The Bantams will now play with a back three of Doyle, Curtis Good and McArdle.

75min: GOAL!!! ......NO! City think they had one back when Hanson powers a header into the corner following Reid's cross into the area but the striker is flagged for offside.

66min: SUB - City bring on Alan Connell for Ravenhill. It seems like City will play in a 4-3-1-2 formation now with Connell just behind Wells and Hanson.

55min: After a period of City pressure, Wells can only slice an effort wide of goal from an angle within the area.

53min: A flying Holmes heads over at the near post following Oster's teasing cross into the area.

51min: Atieno seems to mis-judge the bounce of the ball when looking to attack a teasing Fuller cross and can only mis-direct a close range header at the far post.

48min: GOAL - Barnet 2 Bradford City 0 - Nightmare for City as they concede a second early into the second half. McArdle is dispossessed just outside his own area by Holmes to allow the attacker to tee up Oster, who slots past Duke with relative ease from inside the penalty box.

47min: Hanson out-muscles Andy Iro to reach Ricky Ravenhill's ball down the slope. In the area, Hanson tees the ball across the six yard box but the pass is behind Wells and the Bermudian on the stretch can only fire wide from around four yards out.

46min: Now kicking down the hill, City restart the match to get the second period underway.

HT SUB - City bring on Kyel Reid for Ritchie Jones. After using a diamond shaped midfield in the first half, City will now shape up in a more traditional 4-4-2 formation in the second period.

37min: Collecting a Hanson pass which is just behind him, Wells turns on the ball and shoots from the edge of area but the effort goes narrowly over.

34min: Gary Jones' looping half-volley from outside the area is saved low to his right by Stack.

33min: Spinning on the ball, Hanson fires wide of the target with a shot on the turn from the edge of the area.

29min: With a long Nathan Doyle throw-in into the Barnet box cleared as far as the edge of the area, Darby fires for goal with a first-time half volley but the fierce effort goes over the bar.

22min: Holmes runs at Stephen Darby with real attacking purpose but his driven cross from by the byline is cut out by Duke.

21min: Wells burst forward with menace down City's right flank but his low cut back is dealt with by Barnet's defence before one of the Bermudian's on-rushing team-mates can look to pounce.

17min: Gary Jones drives up the hill deep into Barnet territory but his low drive from just outside the area is simple enough for Stack.

13min: A rising drive from Gary Jones from around 20 yards out sails over Stack's bar.

11min: John Oster's short corner allows Barry Fuller the opportunity to swing the ball into the area. Ricky Holmes glances on but the ball bounces out for a goal-kick a couple of yards wide of Matt Duke's goal.
