A delighted City boss Phil Parkinson was proud as punch of his side's amazing achievements in their thrilling Capital One Cup Semi-Final First Leg win over Aston Villa - but has warned fans that the tie is still far from over at the moment.
Parkinson's men sparkled under the national spotlight this Tuesday as they secured a stunning 3-1 win over Paul Lambert's men from a pulsating tie in front of the Sky Sports cameras at a jumping Coral Windows Stadium.
The superb first leg win - played out in front of over 22,000 supporters - was achieved thanks to arguably one of the very best performances put in by a City side under Parkinson's tenure.
Resolute in defence and bright in attack, City certainly played their part in a hugely-entertaining and event-filled tie against a full-strength Villa side.
On paper, the two-goal cushion now gives City a noticeable advantage going into the second leg at Villa Park in two weeks time, but Parkinson believes the Bantams still have it all to do if they want to actually confirm their spot in a dream Wembley final.
Parkinson said: "I think it was important to get the message across to the lads straight after the game that we didn't want them getting carried away."
"We will enjoy this moment certainly, but we have to be respectful to Villa. In two weeks time, we'll go to Villa Park and have to try and do it all again.
"We are absolutely delighted with the way the lads played tonight though.
"From the first minute to the last, I thought the lads were tremendous tonight.
"Equally though, we know we are only halfway there and we still have a tremendously-difficult job on our hands in a fortnight's time.
"The support from the crowd tonight was excellent - they really got that extra 10-15% out of the players. You could visibly see that.
"That support was so important to us because we were playing against a side a few leagues above us with great players. We needed that crowd support tonight - they created a tremendous atmosphere - it really helped.
"Speaking before the game, I said I'd take a draw out of this game. Obviously we didn't set out to draw the game, but it was important that we made sure we were still realistically in the tie going into the second leg.
"To go to Villa Park with a two-goal advantage is obviously tremendous for us.
"We said to the boys before the game tonight that if Villa are to go to Wembley, let's make sure we really make them earn it.
"That's what we set out to do, and it's game on now I suppose.
"These games like tonight are the sort of games you want to be involved in when you are a kid growing up looking to be a footballer.
"You can only enjoy them if you play to the best of our ability, and that's what we did tonight."
