Performance of the Week - again!

For the second time in three weeks, Phil Parkinson's super City have secured themselves the F&C Investments Performance of the Week Award.

The League Managers Association five-man Performance of the Week panel, comprising LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, were in agreement that the weekly award should again go to the Bantams following their brilliant aggregate 4-3 semi-final victory against Aston Villa in the Capital One Cup this Tuesday.

As before, City boss Parkinson will receive a specially engraved crystal football in a presentation to commemorate the award.

As a result of Tuesday's stunning success, Parkinson became the first manager to guide a fourth-tier side to a League Cup final in over 50 years, which also coincided with the first time Bradford City have reached the final of a major competition since winning the FA Cup in 1911.

February 2013. The Bantams defeated three F.A Barclays Premier League teams en route to the final, where they will now face Swansea City on Sunday 24

After the match, Parkinson was incredibly proud of his team; "This was a chance to make history - and we have done it."

"It’s a moment to savour for everyone - for the players, supporters and myself. It is something I will never forget. The pressure was on Villa. They are a Premier League club and there was a two-goal deficit.

"These lads will be remembered for years to come. There is a lounge at Valley Parade called the 1911 Lounge. Well, now there will be one named after these lads because of what they have achieved.

"Financially, to go to Wembley is going to keep the club going for quite a while. For the city of Bradford, it’s massive and I really feel this can galvanise the area."
