Mark Yeates' second goal of the season helped City to come from behind and pick up a hard-fought point at home to Notts County.

Less than five minutes after arriving off the bench, Yeates picked up Nahki Wells' lay-off before turning into space a drilling a shot past Barosz Bialkowski from just inside the area.

The Irish winger's equaliser came after County midfielder Garry Liddle had given the visitors a barely deserved lead on the stroke of half time.

Liddle's goal for County came less than three minutes before the interval after Danny Haynes had played the ball invitingly across goal for the midfielder to slide in.

City's best chance before Liddle's opener fell at the feet of Kyel Reid just before the half hour mark. Gary Jones' forceful run forward presented Reid with a decent sight of goal inside County's penalty area but the winger dragged his shot wide of Bialkowski's far post.

Following the half-time introduction of Nathan Doyle for Jason Kennedy, City began the second period in purposeful fashion.

James Hanson twice saw headers repelled on goal-line within the space of a few seconds, firstly from Bialkowski and then from defender Dean Leacock.

Still in the early stages of the second half, Garry Thompson then found himself on the end of the Bantams' best chance up until that point.

Latching onto a poor touch from Greg Tempest, Thompson burst past the attentions of Leacock to find himself with a clear run on goal.

Upon reaching County's penalty area, Thompson shot for goal but his drive was blocked behind for a corner by Bialkowski.

Thompson was replaced ten minutes later by Yeates, and it was the Irishman who would go out to drag City level.

Doyle's lofted ball into the box was headed down into the path of Wells by Hanson. Wells went on to lay the ball off to Yeates, who turned away from traffic before drilling a low effort into the bottom corner from just inside the area.

Wells was forced off less than a minute later, however, being replaced by Alan Connell. The Bermudian was one of a number of players in City's camp who have been hit by a stomach bug in the last few days.

Although Phil Parkinson won't want to make the illness seem like an excuse, it was clearly obvious that the recent bug in the squad did affect the performance of his side on the night.

The game ended in slightly heated fashion when Marcus Haber was given a straight red with two minutes of normal time left for appearing to flick an elbow out at Gary Jones as the pair contested a high ball.

With the game in injury time, Liddle then was fortunate not to become the second County player to be red carded after he seemed to catch Matthew Bates with his studs around the defender's thigh area following a high boot.

Despite the tackle looking rather nasty, Liddle escaped with only a booking.

47min: Tempest is so close to putting the ball into his own net as the left back tries to clear a fizzing Reid centre across the six yard box. Tempest is able to put the ball out for a corner but it didn't look too convincing.

The striker squares the ball across the six yard box and the lurking Liddle is on hand to tap in over on the far side of the goal.
41min:
Andre Boucaud's ball into the box intended for Marcus Haber is cleared as far as the waiting Haynes just outside the penalty area. Haynes' fires for goal but his shot bounces down into the ground, taking all of the pace out of it, before McLaughlin can gather.
36min: An attempted clearance up field by Emmanuele Smith is blocked by Hanson to see the ball running free towards County's penalty area. Wells is first onto the free ball but his first time effort on his left foot from the edge of the area is straight at Bialkowski.
27min:
A great driving run from Gary Jones eventually allows the midfielder the opportunity to play Reid invitingly into space deep inside County's penalty area. From an angle, Reid shoots low across goal but his effort rolls just wide of Bialkowski's far post.
25min: GOAL!!!! NO! City think for a second they have the lead when Wells converts McArdle's headed knock-down from close range following Matthew Bates' free-kick from deep into the area. Just as the Bermudian turns away to celebrate though, he is stopped in his tracks by the linesman's flag.
