League announce next season schedule | News

The Football League has released its draft schedule for next (2014/2015) season.

At present, the new Football League season is set to begin on Saturday 9 August 2014, with first round Capital One Cup ties down to take place the midweek after (12/13 August 2014).

Next season's Johnstone's Paint Trophy competition starts Tuesday 2 September 2014.

The F.A Cup first round will begin for League 1 and League 2 clubs over the weekend of Saturday 8 November 2014.

The third round of the F.A Cup, where Championship and Premiership sides enter, is penciled in for Saturday 3 January 2015.

The Christmas schedule will see games played over 20 December 2014, 26 December 2014, 28 December 2014, 3 January 2015.

As normal, there will also be two games over the Easter weekend for City and the other Football League clubs.

The regular league season will finish on Saturday 2 May 2015.
