Young City striker Oliver McBurnie has been added to Scotland's Under 19s squad for their forthcoming training camp.

After scoring eleven goals, including THREE hat-tricks in City's first five youth team matches this season, McBurnie has been drafted into the three-day camp by Scotland Under 19s boss Ricky Sbragia to give the former Sunderland manager and Manchester United coach an opportunity to have a greater look at City's highly-rated forward.

The striker's early haul of goals have played a significant part in the youth team's amazing start to the campaign which has seen them race to the top of league after winning all of their opening five matches.

McBurnie, who recently penned a three year professional contract with the Bantams, will join up with the rest of the Scotland squad as scheduled on Sunday (29 September 2013) until the end of the training camp next Tuesday (1 October 2013).

The Bantams forward qualifies to represent Scotland through his parents.

The camp has been arranged as preparation for the young Scots ahead of their UEFA European Under 19 Championship qualifying round, which takes place next month.

Scotland face group hosts Belarus, Germany and Latvia between the 10th and 15th October. Sbragia's squad, which is currently 28 players strong for the camp, will be cut down to 18 for the qualifiers.

A delighted City Head of Youth Development Peter Horne said: "This great news for the club and great news for Ollie himself.

"This call up is richly-deserved and should be a great experience for Ollie.

"Ollie's main focus at the moment is on our youth team match with Chesterfield tomorrow (Saturday), but, in all fairness, most of the players called up for the training camp have matches Saturday as well.

"He has been called into the squad early really because of the great reports the Scottish F.A have been getting about him recently from his matches here with Bradford City."

McBurnie's Scottish call up is the latest piece of good news for the striker after an exciting few months for the youngster.

Along with his first pro contract and his lightning start to the season, McBurnie enjoyed a brief spell on work experience with Manchester United this summer during the Red Devils' time at the Northern Ireland-based Milk Cup youth tournament.

McBurnie made a major impact in the tournament, finishing the event as joint-top scorer and netting the winner in the final to help United lift the trophy.
