The Bantams produced another impressive defensive rear-guard display on the road to secure a praiseworthy point at promotion-chasing Rotherham United this Friday night.

In front of the Sky Sports cameras, City repelled everything Steve Evans' side could throw at them to pick up a goalless draw at New York Stadium and move themselves onto 50 points for the season.

As the hosts tried to turn up the pressure in the second period, they did have two shouts for penalties - one for a supposed push by Jon Stead on Craig Morgan at a Rotherham free kick and another for an apparent hand-ball by Gary Jones.

On first glance, however, neither shout looked overly-convincingly and it would have harsh on Parkinson's men if either event had been deemed as worthy of a penalty.

The closest Rotherham came to actually scoring during a hard-fought contest came at the beginning of the second period through midfielder Michael O'Connor.

O'Connor hit the woodwork within the minute after the restart with a free-kick delivery from distance with beat everybody in the box before crashing against Jon McLaughlin's far post.

Rotherham sub Haris Vuckic also had a decent opportunity after being picked out in space inside the area by Alex Revell but the attacker lofted the ball over the bar as McLaughlin came out to close the angle.

With Stead leading the line in impressive fashion as City played a 4-3-3 formation for the majority of the game, the Bantams had chances of their own during the match, in particular when Adam Reach got the better of James Tavernier and Morgan, only to be denied by Rotherham 'keeper Adam Collin at his near post.

Stead had probably Bradford's best opening for the first period when he volleyed over inside the box after Andrew Davies had headed a free kick into his path.

Rotherham defender Kari Arnason could have snatched the game at the death for the Millers but, thankfully for City, he headed over after managing to get himself in space to connect with a 90th minute Ben Pringle corner.

FT: Rotherham United 0 Bradford City 0
90+4min: SUB - The Bantams bring on Garry Thompson for Bennett.
90min: There will be three minutes of time added on at the end of the match.
90min: From the resulting corner delivery by Pringle, an unmarked Arnason sends a free header over the bar.
90min: Tavernier's strike from around 25 yards out deflects up and over McLaughlin's bar for a corner.
85min: After Rotherham initially clear a City free-kick into the area, Nathan Doyle knocks the ball back into the penalty box as Stead goes up with Collin to challenge for the ball. Collin just beats Stead to the hanging ball, however, before accidentally catching the striker in the face in the process.
77min: SUB - The Bantams bring on Raffaele De Vita for Dolan. De Vita's arrival means City will now line up in a sort of 4-4-1-1 formation with the Italian supporting Stead in attack.
76min: Vuckic picks up the ball in space around 25 yards out but his effort for goal sails over the bar.
75min: The Bantams skipper is back on his feet now and able to carry on.
74min: Jones is down and in need of a spot of treatment after appearing to take a whack while sliding in rob Pringle of the ball just inside City's own half.
70min: Skarz's cross into the area is headed down into the path of the unmarked Vuckic by Revell but the attacker's attempt at goal with only McLaughlin to beat is lofted over the bar.
69min: Pringle fires the ball across the area but Agard's attempts to latch onto the ball in the middle and strike for goal are blocked by the diving frame of Davies.
67min: Stead gets his head onto a Stephen Darby cross but his glancing header goes well wide of goal.
65min: Vuckic's tidy ball through into the path of Tavernier gives the right back the opportunity to burst past Reach and into City's penalty area. Tavernier strikes for goal once in the Bantams' penalty area but his low angled drive is held by McLaughlin.
63min: SUB - Rotherham bring on Haris Vuckic for Adams.
60min: Revell heads a long ball forward down into the path of the lurking Pringle but the winger's low drive from just outside the area is held by McLaughlin.
53min: Reach gets the better of Tavernier over by the far corner of Rotherham's half before driving into the hosts' penalty box. After turning away from Morgan, the winger finds himself in with a clear sight of Collin's goal, albeit from a tight angle. Reach pokes for goal with his left foot when the situation probably suited a right footed strike better and Collin can save by his near post.
51min: Bennett turns into shooting space from just outside the area before striking in an left footed drive that takes a slight deflection off a Rotherham defender to send it over Collin's bar.
49min: Bennett's clipped cross into the box eventually falls into the path of Reach over by the far side. The winger takes the ball down and sends a half-volley for goal but his effort from around twelve yards out whistles narrowly wide of Collin's far post.
47min: The resulting corner from O'Connor picks out the unmarked Richard Smallwood just outside the area but the midfielder's first time low drive is drilled wide of goal.
46min: Rotherham hit the post! O'Connor's in-swinging delivery from a wide free-kick from distance just beats the heads of Rory McArdle and Craig Morgan in the middle before striking McLaughlin's far post. Arnason fires the loose ball back across goal but it deflects behind for a Rotherham corner.
46min: Rotherham restart the match.
HT: Rotherham United 0 Bradford City 0
45+1min: While under pressure from Davies, Revell heads comfortably wide of goal from O'Connor's flighted corner delivery.
45min: There will be one minute of time added on at the end of the first half.
42min: YELLOW CARD - Adam Drury is booked for a late tackle on Adams over by City's left flank about midway into Rotherham's half as the pair chased down a free ball.
35min: Kieran Agard turns away from Davies before firing in a scuffed shot across the box that just rolls past the out-stretched boot of Revell in the middle and out for a goal kick.
28min: Pushing forward down Rotherham's right wing, Tavernier feeds a low cross into the path of Nicky Adams, who in turn fizzes the ball across McLaughlin's goal and out for a throw-in over on the far side.
27min: Gary Jones tries to luck from distance but the effort is held by Collin.
26min: Ben Pringle cuts inside onto his favoured left foot before curling in an effort towards McLaughlin's goal. The Bantams shot-stopper punches the effort away before the loose ball bounces off Revell and out for a goal kick.
22min: Matthew Dolan tries to play Adam Reach in behind Rotherham's defence with a neat ball down the hosts' right channel. James Tavernier initially manages to stop Reach from latching onto the forward pass but the Bantams winger keeps going and eventually wrestles possession from the Rotherham right back. At this stage Reach has moved towards the centre of the pitch with the aim of getting a shot away. Reach does eventually manage to get a strike towards Rotherham's goal from just outside the box but his right footed drive is blocked by the leg of Kari Arnason.
18min: Revell heads a hanging cross into the path of the lurking Michael O'Connor but the midfielder's goal-bound volley from the edge of the area is blocked by the frame of Davies.
15min: Stephen Darby's free-kick from deep into the area is headed on by Andrew Davies into the path of the lurking Stead but the striker volleys over from around eight yards out as the ball drops over his shoulder.
14min: Jon Stead receives a pass into feet from Bennett before turning Kari Arnason and shooting for goal. The striker's low left footed effort from just inside the area lacks the power required, however, and Collin can gather.
12min: Receiving the ball on the turn, Alex Revell shoots for goal from just outside the area but his low drive is straight at Jon McLaughlin.
1min: Kyle Bennett robs Joe Skarz of the ball over on City's right wing but the winger's left footed angled drive from distance from just outside the area sails well wide of Adam Collin's goal.
0min: The Bantams kick off the match.
7:51pm: A minute's silence is held all around the New York Stadium to remember the 96 Liverpool fans who tragically lost their lives in the Hillsborough disaster 25 years ago.
