Bantams boss Phil Parkinson admits he loves being kept busy this time of year.

Six days after watching his side draw with Scunthorpe United, Parkinson will lead City to Fleetwood Town for the traditional Boxing Day fixture.

Only two days after that, Parkinson's men then entertain Notts County at the Coral Windows Stadium for their final game of 2014 before playing away at Championship side Millwall in the F.A Cup the following Saturday.

Despite not being as hectic as some years previously, City's festive fixture schedule still sees them playing three games in just nine days - but Parkinson wouldn't have it any other way.

Parkinson said: "When you play in football for a certain length of time, you get used to playing over the Christmas period, and you enjoy it.

"The one year I was out of work over this period, I missed it. I missed the buzz of playing and managing over the Christmas period.

"Everyone thought I would be looking forward to my Christmas break, but it was the exact opposite. I missed being involved in football.

"I went to games all across the Christmas period - there is always a good buzz around the holiday games.

"The players and the staff know that sacrifices have to be made at this time of year. We will be working all throughout this Christmas and New Year period and we have to make that worthwhile by getting the results.

"Christmas is a time to spend with your families, especially for the players and staff members who have young children but, equally, we always need to have at least one eye on the job in hand.

"I am confident that every single player in our squad will be switched on and focused during this period, ready to do what is necessary.

"We are going to need all of the lads as well.

"We play Friday, Sunday and then the following Saturday at Millwall, so I am pretty sure most of the lads in the squad will be involved in at least some part over these next few games."
