Doyle to miss Crewe game

1 February 2014

Bantams midfielder Nathan Doyle will miss City's Sky Bet League 1 fixture with Crewe Alexandra at the Coral Windows Stadium next weekend after getting sent off at Wolverhampton Wanderers this Saturday.

Doyle will receive a one-match ban after being given his matching orders for two first half bookings within the space of eight minutes at Molineux while the game was still goalless. City went on to lose the match 2-0.

Bantams boss Phil Parkinson was understandably frustrated with Doyle's actions and he felt the player had acted irresponsibly by receiving two cautions in such a short space of time.

Parkinson said: "We were obviously disappointed with Nathan. We feel he had let the side down.

"The first booking may have been harsh but the second one was an act of stupidity really when you have just been booked. He has hung the lads out to dry really.

"It was always going to be very difficult coming here to play a team who have such tremendous attacking players, the last thing you need to do is go down to ten men."
