The midfielder has been shortlisted for the award along with Rotherham United's Lee Frecklington, Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker Michael Jacobs and Tranmere Rovers' Owain Fon Williams.
The winner of the award will be announced on Friday (7 March 2014).
Jones' nomination comes after a series of recent impressive performances from the experienced City captain, none more so than his driven display in the recent 3-3 home draw with Crewe Alexandra.
Jones scored two goals in the game as the Bantams twice came from behind to secure a deserved point from the match.
