Bantams boss Phil Parkinson says his side will be ready for the challenge of facing Gillingham this Saturday (15 March 2014) after back-to-back long distance journeys in a week.
After trips to Brentford and Colchester United in the space of only four days, Parkinson's men return to home soil this weekend welcome Gillingham to the Coral Windows Stadium.
City will go into the game boosted by a welcome win over Colchester on Tuesday and eager to make two wins on the trot against a Gills side led by former Bradford boss Peter Taylor.
Parkinson said: "We gave the lads a couple of days off this week and they have been back in training today (Friday).
"Spirits are high understandably and we're looking forward to the game on Saturday.
"We know it will be a tough game - Gillingham have done well under Peter Taylor - but we've looking forward to coming back onto our home ground having picked up a great win away from home.
"We had a number of players coming into the side at Colchester on Tuesday having not started at the weekend - Andrew (Davies), James (Hanson), Adam Drury and Matty Dolan - and that will coming into our thinking for the weekend."
It is not only former boss Taylor who will be a familiar face to City supporters this Saturday.
Gillingham also have City old boy Craig Fagan - a player signed by Parkinson for City back in September 2011 - in their ranks.
Powerful striker Adebayo Akinfenwa - known to most Bradford followers from City's numerous encounters with Northampton Town last season - is also included in Taylor's squad.
Parkinson said: "Gillingham have a lot of players in their squad who we have come up against a number of times in the past. Peter (Taylor), of course, used to manage here as well.
"He is an experienced manager - I've come across him a number of times - and he'll know all about Bradford City after being the manager here.
"When I've seen Gillingham play in the past, they look a well-organised side, so we will have to be patient and make sure we don't get frustrated.
"We have to understand that there will be periods in the game when they make it very difficult for us but we have been working on different ways to hopefully try and combat that."
