CLARKSON RETURNS TO TRAINING

11 November 2014

City forward Lewis Clarkson has returned to training this week after over three months on the sidelines.

Clarkson has yet to feature for the Bantams this season after injuring his hamstring in a pre-season friendly at Bradford (Park Avenue) in late July.

The injury was a particularly frustrating one for Clarkson given the fact that he had scored four goals in City's first two friendlies during their pre-season programme.

Since the injury, the former Hull City striker has had to endure several frustrating weeks in the treatment room at City's Apperley Bridge training ground as he battled his way back to fitness.

There does appear to be some light at the end of the tunnel for Clarkson now though following his return to full training with the rest of the squad, although he is still a bit off being ready for first team selection just yet.

Clarkson is expected to need the next couple of weeks at least on the training pitch to work on his fitness levels before he can be considered for a game.

In other injury news, Jon Stead suffered a slight groin strain during Sunday's F.A Cup tie at FC Halifax Town.

The injury is being monitored by City's medical staff but it is hoped he can be fit for Saturday's trip to Preston North End in Sky Bet League 1.
