DEFENSIVE DUO SET FOR ORIENT GAME

27 November 2014

The defensive duo of Andrew Davies and Stephen Darby are expected to be fit enough for selection for this Saturday's home fixture with Leyton Orient, despite picking up knocks in the game against Gillingham last weekend.

Davies and Darby, who was recently voted onto the PFA's Management Committee, both reported minor problems following the drawn Gillingham fixture but the pair took part in training this Thursday.

As a result, the two defenders are expected to be fine for the visit of Leyton Orient to the Coral Windows Stadium.

Portuguese winger Filipe Morais won't be fit for the Orient fixture, however, due to a shoulder injury picked up during the Gillingham match.

Morais is expected to be out for at least two weeks with the injury.

Another player who might not be involved in this Saturday's game is Matthew Dolan after Bantams boss Phil Parkinson agreed to make the midfielder available for a loan transfer ahead of this Thursday's loan deadline.

Parkinson said: "If someone comes in for Matt before the deadline (5:00pm, Thursday) and offers a move we think is right for him, then we would look into doing it."

Young City striker Lewis Clarkson is already out on loan having completed a move to Whitby Town towards the back end of last week.

Commenting on the loan, Parkinson said: "It is a shame for Lewis that he got such an unfortunate injury over the summer because he had looked so bright in pre-season. He was out a total of fourteen weeks with his hamstring injury.

"He is now back training but he needs to go away, get some games, and build up his match fitness.

"I felt Whitby was a good place for him to do that.

"Whitby are managed by (former City defender) Darren Williams, and they also have another Bradford old boy, Lee Bullock, there as a player-coach.

"I speak to Bully (Lee Bullock) quite often about our younger players and I know Lewis will be well looked after there.

"As we have done with Niall Heaton, who is currently on loan at Bradford Park Avenue, we will be monitoring Lewis’ progress closely."
