TURNING PERFORMANCES INTO WINS

7 November 2014

City chief Phil Parkinson knows the Bantams are not far away from turning performances into victories.

Parkinson's men have struggled for wins over the last month or so but their displays, most notably during last Saturday's match against Doncaster Rovers, have arguably deserved more.

Parkinson has said that he shares the fans' frustration over the club's recent winless streak but he feels his players are still in the right frame of mind ahead of Sunday's eye-catching F.A Cup tie with West Yorkshire neighbours FC Halifax Town.

He said: "It has been a good week on the training ground for the players - the build up to this game has been positive.

"Confidence levels are high. Although results haven't been going for us, some of our players have been playing well.

"Overall, apart from probably a 25 minute period in the first half at Oldham recently, performances levels have been good.

"Certainly against Doncaster last Saturday, I think the fans could clearly see we were the dominant side in that match.

"We need to start turning that dominance into victories though, hopefully starting this weekend.

"If you look short-term, we are not happy with our return of points - that is obvious.

"It is not all doom and gloom though.

"If you look at the season as a whole, some of the performances we have put in - Coventry at home, Leeds at home, MK Dons away, Bristol City away - have probably been some of the best during my time here.

"We have lost our way admittedly. We've had a lot of disruption, meaning we've found it hard to get the same eleven players on the pitch from one week to the next.

"Despite recent results though, confidence levels on the training pitch this week have been high.

"You have players coming into the team or coming back into the team, the likes of Jon Stead, Mark Yeates, Billy Knott, Filipe Morais, that are enjoying their football at the moment and it is good to see.

"We are all frustrated by recent results but we know what ingredients we need to add to turn performances into wins."
