ZOKO JOINS ON LOAN

22 November 2014

On the eve of this Saturday's Sky Bet League 1 fixture with Gillingham, Bantams boss Phil Parkinson has swooped to snap up exciting attacker Francois Zoko on loan from Championship side Blackpool.

The Ivorian-born forward, 31, has signed on loan at the Coral Windows Stadium until 17 January 2015.

Zoko's move to City comes after fellow forward Aaron Mclean left Valley Parade in the opposite direction on loan to Peterborough United earlier this week.

After receiving the relevant clearances from The F.A and The Football League, Zoko will now be in contention to feature in Parkinson's match-day squad for the Gillingham fixture.

He will wear squad number 13 during his time with the Bantams this season.

The 6' 0'' pacey and skillful striker, who can also play on the wing, has featured fourteen times for Blackpool so far this season after moving to Bloomfield Road during the summer.

The main highlight of his time with Blackpool so far came when he netted the Tangerines' winner at home to Cardiff City in early October.

The striker also scored for Blackpool in a training ground friendly at Manchester United earlier this week.

Before arriving at Blackpool, Zoko played alongside his new City team-mate Filipe Morais at Stevenage last season. Bradford fans may remember Zoko for his goal in the colours of Stevenage at the Coral Windows Stadium this March as he helped Boro' beat the Bantams 3-2.

Zoko has featured for Notts County and Carlisle United as well during his time in England.

Carlisle was his maiden club in English football after spending the first nine years of his career in playing in France and Belgium, along with a spell with Turkish side Hacettepe Spor Kulubu.
