Mclean netted his third goal of the season eighteen minutes from the end on Saturday to make the all-important break-through and push City on their way to three points in the process.
Coming off the back of another hard-working display against Port Vale the week before, Mclean's Crewe goal was no more than the striker deserved after an energetic performance against the league's bottom side.
Parkinson said: "Inside the box is where Aaron is at his best.
"With his movement and speed across the ground over four or five yards, he really is a threat.
"When we do crossing and finishing in training, he's almost unmarkable.
"His pace, movement and finishing inside the box is top class.
"That is where you want your strikers to be - in the box - and that is certainly where we want Aaron to be.
"He needs quality service into him inside the box though. (Mark) Yeatesy has put a great delivery in for the first goal and Aaron has been alive enough to it to get us that opener."
Following Mclean's opener, Gary Liddle's goal just two minutes after virtually secured the points for Parkinson's men.
The City chief was pleased to see the summer signing score his first goal for the club after an impressive start to his time with the Bantams.
Parkinson added: "Gary has been excellent for us since day one really.
"He deserved his goal because his performance levels have been very high throughout the season.
"I am pleased for him because it is always important to get your first goal for a new club.
"Gary is a good finisher - he showed great calmness with his goal. Hopefully there are now more to follow."
