A spirited second half response from Barnsley saw the South Yorkshire side end City's unbeaten start to their away fixtures this season.

Phil Parkinson's men were given a tremendous start to the Yorkshire derby in front of the Sky Sports cameras when Jason Kennedy opened the scoring after only 44 seconds but Barnsley fought back after the break to claim the win.

Kennedy's first minute goal came about thanks to neat approach play by Yeates, allowing the midfielder to fire low into the far bottom corner from just inside the box after being teed up by the Irishman.

The hosts levelled things up early after the break, however, when Rory McArdle inadvertently headed a wide free-kick delivery from Conor Hourihane into his own goal. Barnsley then completed their turnaround less than twenty minutes later when Sam Winnall swept home Lewin Nyatanga's low cross into the box.

With City playing with Andrew Davies in attack and only three at the back by this stage, Barnsley added a third in the final seconds of the game. Hourihane's dangerous drive into the box was held up by a well-timed tackle from McArdle but the ball broke free to substitute Kane Hemmings, who drilled a low first time shot past Jordan Pickford from just inside the area.
