Bantams boss Phil Parkinson says there is no mad rush needed for City on transfer deadline day due to the loan possibilities open to the Bantams over the course of the weeks and months ahead.

With the summer transfer window set to close for English clubs at 11:00pm this Monday evening, a large number of transfers are expected to take place in the hours leading up to the deadline.

And while the Bantams chief hasn't 100% ruled anything out as the clock ticks down to 11:00pm, Parkinson feels City aren't in any great need to add to the clutch of clubs making deadline day signings.

The loan market re-opens to Football League clubs in a week's time, meaning Parkinson can add to his squad via this route even though the main transfer window will have shut by then.

Parkinson said: "There is a lot of hype around but this day is predominately for Premiership clubs.

"The benefit for clubs at our level, however, is that the Premiership clubs will have named their squads and got in the players they are going to need by the time the loan window opens again in a week's time.

"That means they should know by then what players within their squad are surplus to their requirements.

"I am sure teams in our division will do business today (Monday). For us, you never say never, but I think it will be highly unlikely that anything will happen here apart from new deals for the likes of Ben (Williams)."
