MORAIS BACK IN CONTENTION

2 April 2015

Bantams winger Filipe Morais is back in contention for a place in Phil Parkinson's starting eleven for this Friday's trip to Doncaster Rovers after completing his three-match suspension.

Following his red card during the Reading F.A Cup quarter-final replay last month, Morais missed City's recent home triple header but he is now available for selection again for the visit to Doncaster's Keepmoat Stadium.

While City may have missed the Portuguese winger's creativity over the last three games, the small break for Morais has at least given him the opportunity to fully recover from a knee injury that had been hampering him before his suspension.

Parkinson said: "He (Filipe) is in a better place now than when he first came back from the injury.

"He was 'fast-tracked' back should we say for the original Reading game but he looks in a good place now.

"He has been able to do a mini pre-season almost over the last two weeks or so with Nick (Allamby, Head of Sports Performance).

"He is a big player for us and we look forward to welcoming him back into the squad."

After missing out on Tuesday's game with Chesterfield, Andy Halliday (hamstring) and Jak Alnwick (wrist) remain doubtful for the Doncaster game, while Andrew Davies continues to recover from his own hamstring problem.

Parkinson added: "Andy has a problem with a nerve in his hamstring. We have had the area injected but it has not settled down as well as we would have hoped.

"Jak sprained his wrist in training and he has gone back to Newcastle (United) for treatment.

"Andrew Davies is making good progress. The scan we had on the injury revealed a minor tear but it is not as bad we first feared it could have been."
