City secured their first win of the league season in the most dramatic fashion when new signing Devante Cole struck in the final minute of injury time to score the winner on his debut.

After a second half of increasing City pressure, Cole latched onto Rory McArdle's ball into the box with barely seconds remaining to steer home past former City loanee 'keeper Jak Alnwick from close range.

The goal sparked rapturous scenes around the Coral Windows Stadium as a relieved home support celebrated the club's maiden three-point haul of the season.

FT: Bradford City 1 Port Vale 0
90+4min: GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bradford City 1 Port Vale 0 - Cole has surely won it for City! McArdle's long ball forward bounces kindly for the striker in the box and he coolly slots home from close range!
90+4min: Leitch-Smith picks out Purkiss inside the area but his drive flashes wide of Williams' near post.
90min: There will be four minutes of time added on at the end of the match.
90min: On the stretch, Cole can only turn Marshall's teasing cross over the bar from close range!
90min: Morris' cross into the area eventually drops to Marshall, who sees his rising drive on the half volley deflected behind for a corner.
87min: YELLOW CARD - Foley is booked for tripping Marshall just inside City's half of the pitch after the winger had nipped in to win possession.
86min: Morris fires in a shot from outside the area but the rising drive sails high and wide into the Kop stand behind Alnwick's goal.
85min: Marshall's flighted cross towards the far post tries to pick out Hanson but the striker, while under pressure from Purkiss, can only head wide on the stretch.
80min: Kelly's through-ball looks to play Birchall in behind City's defence but a watchful James Meredith puts enough pressure on him to see the pass go through safely to Williams.
80min: Marshall's fierce drive from outside the area is held by Alnwick.
73min: After robbing Ben Purkiss of the ball midway into City's half, Morris bursts forward into Vale territory, playing a one-two with Knott along the way. Now in the box, Morris fires low for goal but his angled drive is repelled by the out-stretched left leg of Alnwick.
71min: Kelly bursts into the box with purpose but his cross-come-shot from an angle flies harmlessly wide of Williams' near post.
70min: SUBS - The Bantams bring on Devante Cole and Billy Knott for Davies and Evans.
69min: SUB - Vale bring on Ajay Leitch-Smith for Ikpeazu.
66min: Marshall's teasing ball across the six yard box flashes just in front of Davies before going out for a goal-kick. Any decent touch on the ball from Davies there would surely have resulted in a goal!
63min: SUBS - Vale bring on Sam Kelly and Chris Birchall for Andoh and Moore respectively.
59min: SUB - The Bantams bring on Josh Morris for Anderson.
50min: Marshall takes aim from outside the area but his low drive is straight at Jak Alnwick.
49min: The ball drops to Dodds just outside the box but the attacker's rising drive flies a good distance over Williams' bar.
48min: Ikpeazu tries his luck with a shot on the turn from around 25 yards out but the low drive flashes comfortably wide of Williams' far post.
46min: The Bantams restart the match.
HT: Bradford City 0 Port Vale 0
45+1min: YELLOW CARD - Hanson is booked for catching Dickinson the face during an aerial challenge for the ball around the halfway line just in front of the two dug-outs.
45min: There will be two minutes of time added on at the end of the first half.
44min: Paul Anderson's teasing delivery from deep towards the far post from the resulting free-kick has to be put behind by Inniss with the lurking Hanson waiting to pounce just behind.
43min: YELLOW CARD - Inniss is booked for catching Davies as the striker moved away from him just inside Vale territory.
35min: YELLOW CARD - Grant is booked for kicking the ball away following the award of a free-kick for City just inside Vale's half of the pitch.
31min: Andoh drives forward into open space inside City territory before firing horribly wide of Williams' goal with an ambitious drive from distance.
30min: Dickinson's long ball into the box from the resulting set-piece delivery finds Ikpeazu, who fires in an acrobatic overhead kick that Williams manages to cling onto at the second attempt.
30min: YELLOW CARD - Davies is booked for kicking the ball following the award of a free-kick of a Vale free-kick just inside City's half of the pitch.
29min: Marshall's cross into the area is headed away by Richard Duffy only as far as the lurking James Hanson, who fires wide with a first time shot on the turn from around twelve yards out.
25min: Foley's lofted ball into the area is just out of reach of the sliding Andoh. Any meaningful touch from the Vale winger there and he'd have been looking at a strike on Williams' goal from barely yards out.
22min: YELLOW CARD - Evans is booked for catching Enoch Andoh with a late tackle after the Ghanian winger had blocked a pass from the City midfielder around the halfway line and looked set to burst into City territory.
19min: Ikpeazu's low cross into area is picked up by Dodds before the attacker lays the ball off in the direction of Foley. The Vale midfielder looks set to shoot from a decent position inside the box but an alert Mark Marshall gets back to crucially rob him of the ball.
17min: After emerging from a 50-50 challenge with Rory McArdle with the ball, Ikpeazu tries his luck from distance but his low drive sails comfortably wide of Williams' near post.
16min: Strong forward play from Ikpeazu keeps the ball alive just inside penalty area. A scramble for possession ensues before eventually the danger passes for City when Louis Dodds is flagged for offside.
6min: Good closing down from Foley on Lee Evans eventually sees Ikpeazu with the ball near the byline deep inside City's penalty area. Ikpeazu's low centre across the area gives City a moment of worry before Williams can gleefully dive on the loose ball.
5min: Byron Moore takes advantage of a loose touch from Reece Burke to feed possession into the feet of Uche Ikpeazu. Vale's giant striker takes a touch from just outside the box before striking a low drive straight at Williams.
3min: A purposeful run from Sam Foley sees the midfielder get to just inside City's penalty area before firing in a side-footed effort that Ben Williams pushes around the post.
