EVERYONE NEEDS TO PLAY THEIR PART

14 August 2015

Bantams boss Phil Parkinson says City's players and supporters must work together to make the club successful at the Coral Windows Stadium this season, starting with Saturday's visit of Shrewsbury Town.

After a productive summer selling over 18,000 season tickets thanks to the club's #onefournine campaign, a large attendance is expected inside Valley Parade for City's first home game of the new campaign against Shrewsbury.

A bumper crowd should mean a bumper atmosphere around the Coral Windows Stadium on Saturday but Parkinson is aware that both the players and fans must play their part to make the afternoon a triumphant one.

Parkinson said: "It is looking like it should be a good crowd in the stadium and we have to use that to our advantage.

"It is a two-way thing though.

"We have to play in a manner that inspires the supporters, and the supporters themselves have to come into the ground ready to get right behind their team.

"We need them to lift the players through the good parts and the bad parts of the game come Saturday because we know every match has an ebb and flow to it.

"Having 18,000 fans in the stadium will only be a bonus for us if they get passionately behind the players.

"Since I've been at the club, the fans have always got right behind the players, and we need them to do that again.

"That is going to be key throughout the season, not just Saturday.

"You can feel around the ground the passion our supporters have for the team, and we would like to see that on Saturday as well.

"It will really lift the team. In turn, the players' performance can then lift the supporters."
