Bantams boss Phil Parkinson has handed full competitive debuts to summer signings Nathan Clarke and Josh Morris for City's season opener at Swindon Town.
Fellow pre-season recruit, Tony McMahon, who featured for the club last season on loan, will also start the match in midfield.
Five of Parkinson's other recent additions - Paul Anderson, Mark Marshall, Joe Cracknell, Steven Davies, Luke James - will begin the game from the bench.
