The Bantams confirmed their place in the Emirates FA Cup third round draw with a routine victory over Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division side Chesham United at the Coral Windows Stadium.

First half goals from Kyel Reid and James Hanson gave City a comfortable lead at the break before injury time efforts from substitutes Gary Liddle and Devante Cole wrapped things up nicely for Phil Parkinson's men.

After last season's FA Cup heroics, the Chesham victory sees City qualify for the third round for the second successive campaign - the first time the club has done that in 41 years.

The Bantams' opener came midway through the first period when Hanson flicked on Rory McArdle's ball forward and Reid pounced to fire home his first goal of the season from the edge of the box.

Hanson doubled City's advantage shortly before the interval when he latched onto Lee Evans' superb pass from inside his own area to finish neatly past Shane Gore in the Chesham penalty area.

The two first half goals put the Bantams firmly in the driving seat but it wasn't until the final minutes of the game that Parkinson's men put a seal on the victory.

Liddle netted City's third shortly after the game had ticked over into stoppage time when he met a Tony McMahon's near post corner delivery. The midfielder timed his run nicely, looping an effort into the far corner from close range.

Less than a minute later, Parkinson's side put the icing on the cake as Cole swooped to neatly flick home from close range following McMahon's ball across the six yard box.
