HANSON HAILS TEAM PERFORMANCE

10 February 2015

City match-winner James Hanson hailed the Bantams' all-round team performance after Phil Parkinson's men came from behind to defeat promotion hopefuls Milton Keynes Dons at the Coral Windows Stadium this Monday evening in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

Following the recalled Billy Clarke's equaliser shortly after Dele Alli's opener for the Dons, Hanson was on hand to net the deciding goal twenty minutes from the end past visiting shot-stopper David Martin.

Coming quickly off the back of his opening goal at Port Vale at the weekend, Monday's winner for Hanson was his ninth of the campaign so far - pushing him further clear at the top of City's scoring charts.

Hanson said: "It was a good all-round performance from the lads tonight (Monday).

"We dug in exceptional well against an MK Dons side who like to keep hold of the ball.

"We pressed them really well and I felt we deserved to win in the end.

"(Jon) Steady is a really clever player and he will pick you out if you make the sort of runs I did for our second goal.

"Winning games breeds confidence, and wins like tonight and the one at Chelsea gives you a massive lift.

"Going into Sunday now, we can enjoy the occasion and really look forward to it."

Hanson's strike partner on the night, Jon Stead, was on hand with the assist for the all-important winner. To go with his six goals, the assist for Stead was his eight of the season so far.

Stead himself added: "James has made a good run and I've just managed to find him on this occasion. It was a great finish from him as well.

"We've played the conditions well tonight. We've got the ball forward early, put them under pressure and made them defend.

"That is what you've got to do on a tricky surface - this is a big three points for us.

"It makes the point we got at Port Vale a better one and it lifts us for the big cup tie we have with Sunderland on Sunday.

"We had a couple of defeats in January but I believe that is four unbeaten for us in all competitions now."
