The trip to Peterborough this weekend will be City's second long journey in a week following the midweek match at Swindon Town, while Parkinson's men also have a league match at home to Crawley Town and an F.A Cup Quarter-Final with Reading coming up on the horizon.
Hosts Peterborough will have caretaker boss Dave Robertson in charge for the first time this Saturday following the departure of long-standing boss Darren Ferguson last weekend.
Gary Liddle is set to miss the Peterborough fixture through suspension after picking up his tenth booking of the season at Swindon, meaning Parkinson will be forced into at least one change to his line up for the weekend.
The City chief is also continuing to monitor the progress of injured trio Filipe Morais, James Hanson and Andrew Davies, all of whom have missed the club's last two fixtures.
Parkinson said: "We are always at our best away from home when everybody in the team produces a full-on performance.
"We don't know what Peterborough are going to play completely given their recent change in coaching staff but this is a big game for us.
"They (Andrew Davies, James Hanson and Filipe Morais) are still progressing well but we can't rush them back. We can only put them back in the side when they are 100% ready to go once more.
"We have good cover in the squad for them, however.
"There's players who have been in and out of the team recently who are fighting for a chance to play on Saturday.
"Anyone who comes in has the ability to keep the side strong and do a job for us. Whoever has the shirt right now has to remain working hard to keep hold of it."
