AND NOW ONTO SCOTLAND...

12 July 2015

Following Saturday's victory over Farsley Celtic in their first pre-season fixture of the summer, Phil Parkinson's Bantams will depart for Scotland this Sunday to begin their week-long stay north of the border.

After trips to the Republic of Ireland for the previous three years, Parkinson's men will spent the third week of their pre-season programme based just north of Glasgow this time around.

During their time in Scotland, City are scheduled to face Motherwell on the Tuesday (14 July 2015) at Grangemouth Stadium near Falkirk before moving on to play at St Mirren four days later (Saturday 18 July 2015).

Both games will kick off at 2:00pm.

Trialists Joe Cracknell, Greg Leigh and Luke Hendrie are set to travel with Parkinson's squad from the group that played in City's 3-0 win over Farsley at Throstle Nest.

Parkinson said: "I went up there myself during the summer break to look at the facilities we would be using in Scotland.

"I feel it will be a good training base for us. We are looking forward to getting up there."

Speaking after the Farsley friendly, City assistant manager Steve Parkin added: "We have two games to play while we are there - Motherwell and St Mirren - and they will be two challenging fixtures for us.

"I've been up to Scotland a couple of times before with Rochdale and the games always seem to have a competitive edge to them. That is exactly what we need.

"It will be nice to have a change of scenery during pre-season, make use of some good training facilities while we are there, and also get all the lads together as a group.

"It was a good work-out at Farsley, and we would like to thank Farsley for their hospitality. It was also a good opportunity to see some of the trialists and some of the younger players in action.

"It was a nice work-out to take into Scotland next week.

"It was good to see Big Jim (James Hanson) get a couple of goals but it is hard on the team that goes out in the second half because a bit of the momentum has been taken out of the game by that stage.

"We had chances to increase our lead after the break but it was still a reasonably good work-out considering it is still early days."
