CITY SETTLE IN AT THEIR SCOTTISH BASE

13 July 2015

After safely arriving at their Scottish base Sunday evening, Phil Parkinson's men have been down to work on their first full day north of the border.

Ahead of their friendly with Motherwell at Grangemouth Stadium, Falkirk on Tuesday afternoon, Parkinson's squad took advantage of the facilities at their hotel north of Glasgow to fit morning and afternoon training sessions.

Fresh from signing with the Bantams, Mark Marshall is part of City's group in Scotland, giving the pacey winger ample opportunity to get to know his new team-mates.

Two of Marshall's team-mates for the 2015/2016 season - Billy Knott and Rory McArdle - both returned to training this Monday after being rested as a precaution for Saturday's opening friendly win at Farsley Celtic.

Speaking from City's Scottish hotel, Parkinson said: "We arrived at the hotel yesterday (Sunday) at about 7:00pm, had our evening meal, before giving the lads the itinerary for the first day today (Monday).

"The day started off with some of the lads having a session in the pool as early as 7:00am with Nick (Allamby, Head of Sports Performance) and Matt Barrass (Head Physio).

"After breakfast at 8:00am, we were out on the pitch by about 10:30am for our first full training session.

"We had a really good session on a great surface. After lunch, we gave the lads a couple of hours to relax and recharge before having the second session of the day at 3:00pm.

"This was a strength and conditioning session in the gym with Nick.

"The lads then had the rest of the day after that to relax around the hotel ready for our game tomorrow (Tuesday).

"Everything is going well so far and we are being looked after greatly by the staff here at the hotel.

"Billy Knott and Rory McArdle were back in full training today after we rested them on Saturday due to minor knocks.

"Steven Davies is a bit behind after a slight injury he picked up at the start of pre-season but he is progressing well though."
