The game is labelled as a testimonial match for long serving Clarets defender Michael Duff. The 37 year old joined from Cheltenham Town in 2004 and has remained with the club ever since, going on to make in excess of 350 appearances. Michael is also the brother of former City defender Shane Duff, who spent the 2010-11 at the Coral Windows Stadium.
Burnley will be making the return to the Championship after a year away in the Premier League. Sean Dyche's men recorded some notable results, including wins against Manchester City and Southampton, and draws against Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, but they were relegated on the penultimate weekend of the season despite victory at Hull City. Ultimately, it was to be a 19th place finish in the top flight for the Clarets, who fell 5 points short of safety.
The star man of last season's Premier League campaign was England Under 21 international Danny Ings who bagged 11 goals for the Clarets, and he has recently agreed to sign for Liverpool ahead of the 2015-16 season.
Tickets prices for the fixture will be announced in due course.
