HARD WORK GOING ON BEHIND THE SCENES

19 June 2015

Bantams boss Phil Parkinson says he won't rush his efforts to improve City's squad ahead of the new season.

Parkinson has been busy in recent weeks keeping tabs on a number of potential transfer dealings as he looks to bolster the ranks before the big kick off in August.

The City chief is understandably keen to only add quality to his current group of players and he is prepared to play the waiting game if that is what it takes.

Parkinson said: "We are all focused on building the squad and making sure we are strong come the first game of the season.

"We have an idea in our mind of where we would like to be in terms of the squad and the players we would like to bring in.

"We have several contract offers out there to players but when you are going for quality, you always have to be patient because you are up against other clubs for their services.

"Anyone can sign players at this time of year but signing the better ones tend to take time.

"We are working as hard as we can to get the best squad assembled with the budget we have."
