EXTRA SAFETY MEASURES FOR SATURDAY'S F.A. CUP QUARTER FINAL

5 March 2015

Additional safety measures will be in place for Saturday’s FA Cup Quarter Final tie Reading (kick-off 12.45pm) at the Coral Windows Stadium.

The website has already detailed the road closures that will be in place on Midland Road for the game (please click HERE).

Tomorrow (Friday), more details will be announced about the turnstiles that will be open for the sell-out game.

This announcement will focus on some of the more unusual safety procedures that will be enforced for this bumper crowd.  In particular, supporters are asked to note that the main Ticket Office will not open after the game.

With the North Stand Kop and the North West corner being open and sold-out, there will be some congestion in that area after the game.  Therefore, the ticket office will not open at the final whistle.  Any supporters with ticket queries or wishing to buy tickets for forthcoming away games at Coventry City and Notts County can do so before the game with the ticket office opening at 9am on Saturday morning.

Additional ticket checks will also be in place as you approach the stadium.  You may be asked to show your ticket at the road blocks, by stewards in the surrounding streets, by stewards as you approach the turnstiles and, of course, by the turnstile operator.  These checks are all geared to ensuring your safety and to help you get into the right areas of the stadium as quickly and safely as possible.  With the game being a sell-out, we have no scope to transfer people to other seats or stands.  Therefore, please double-check your tickets before you set-off for the stadium and co-operate with stewards as they ask to see your tickets as you approach the stadium.  Please also make sure that you use the seat identified on your match ticket.

We would also remind supporters of our request to target a 12.15pm arrival at the stadium, not the 12.45pm kick-off time.  If everyone can try to be in the stadium 30 minutes before kick-off it will ease access to the stadium and help to make sure everyone can play their part in building up the atmosphere for a fabulous and exciting game.
