Edwards' effort direct from a corner by former Bantams skipper Gary Jones fourteen minutes from the end cancelled out Jon Stead's opener for Phil Parkinson's men in first half injury time.

Stead's goal deep into a opening period extended by a head injury to Blair Adams came about when Francois Zoko sped past Hayden Mullins before teeing up his strike-partner to calmly volley home from close range.

The point earned by the Bantams was the very least Parkinson's side merited from the Sky Bet League 1 encounter after going close to doubling their lead on more than one occasion before Edwards' equaliser.

The recalled Christopher Routis and Matthew Dolan went close early after the break, while Zoko and substitute James Hanson both saw efforts cleared off the line in quick succession from a Mark Yeates corner just after the hour mark.

As City continued to dominate proceedings in the second half, Hanson was denied a clear strike of goal only by a last-ditch tackle from Mullins before Zoko planted a free header straight at Roy Carroll less than a minute later.

The Bantams were unfortunately made to pay for their missed opportunities when Edwards got himself on the end of Jones' corner delivery to convert one of County few chances on target in the second period up until that point.

Hanson had an opening two minutes from the end to restore City's lead but his looping header from Filipe Morais' hanging cross bounced agonisingly wide of Carroll's goal.

70min: A brilliant run from Zoko eventually sees the Ivorian play Hanson in on goal but the Bantams striker is denied a strike on Carroll's goal from deep inside the County box by a superb last-ditch clearing tackle from Mullins.

69min: McCourt's pass finds Curtis Thompson inside the box but the midfielder's low drive is held by Alnwick.

63min: City have an effort scrambled off the line! From the resulting corner delivery by Yeates, Hanson's initial header seems to be saved by Carroll from close range before Zoko's effort on the rebound appears to be kicked clear off the goal-line.

62min: Yeates' ball into the box from a wide free-kick delivery finds Routis lurking and the Frenchman volleys into the side-netting over by the far post via a slight deflection off a County player.

61min: Dolan's ball back into the area following a half-cleared City corner takes a flick off Hollis's head before dropping past Carroll's near post with the 'keeper wrong-footed.

60min: SUB - The Bantams bring on James Hanson for Stead.

59min: After Yeates' drive from inside the box is blocked by Mullins, the ball drops out to Dolan, who fires in a fierce strike from around 20 yards out that Carroll has to save low down to his right by his near post.
