The football club wish to announce that Main Board Director, Mr Graham Jones, is to retire from his position after five successful years with the Club.

Mr Jones, who joined the board during the summer of 2010 after two years as an associate director, is the co-owner of MPL Locksmiths of Wakefield and various other Group Companies.

He will now focus predominantly on growing these businesses on a day-to-day basis whilst also being able to devote more time to his family life.

Although he is leaving the main board full time, Mr Jones has indicated that his intention is to revert to being an associate director but attending only home games in the future.

He said: “I have really enjoyed my time at Bradford City during what has probably been the most exciting of times for the Club and fans.

"I hope I have made a contribution, and I am very proud to have been part of a match-day team along with Steve Longbottom which has seen us win the Football League Award for Boardroom of the Year five years running in League Two and be national runner up last year.

"The Club is shortlisted for an Award again this time.

"I will miss some of the day-to-day interaction but my business has really taken off over the last three years across all aspects and offers me an equally exciting opportunity now with franchises nationwide and a successful Training School."

Joint-chairman Mark Lawn added: "Graham has been a first class ambassador for the club over his time on the board and has made a positive contribution in the boardroom.

"We all understand and accept his reasons for calling it a day and wish him well with the business. We shall not be losing him altogether though, and look forward to seeing his smiling face next season."

Fellow director, Roger Owen said "I have travelled to many away games with Graham and the miles have passed quickly. He is not one to accept second best so I guess to maintain the momentum something had to give and he has made the right business decision - good on him. "
