MEREDITH PLAYS AGAIN FOR AUSTRALIA

17 November 2015

Five days after picking up his maiden international cap for Australia, City left back James Meredith was once again selected to play for the Socceroos in their latest FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifier.

After comfortably defeating Kyrgyzstan in Canberra last Thursday, Australia beat Bangladesh 4-0 in Dhaka this Wednesday to pick up another three points in their Asia Group B qualifying campaign.

With Australia already four goals to the good by half time thanks mainly to a first half hat-trick from Tim Cahill, Meredith was replaced in the match by Huddersfield Town defender Jason Davidson in the 58th minute.

Fresh from collecting his second start for the Socceroos, Meredith is now expected back in training for City towards the end of this week.

Bantams boss Phil Parkinson said: "We are very pleased for him again.

"To keep his place in the side again shows how well he did for them in the first match."
