PARKINSON ACKNOWLEDGES IMPORTANT GAME

2 November 2015

Bantams boss Phil Parkinson says he knows the importance of City's rearranged match with Blackpool at the Coral Windows Stadium this Tuesday.

The Bantams' midweek encounter with Neil McDonald's Seasiders at Valley Parade will act as City's game in hand on most of their other competitors in Sky Bet League 1.

The game was originally due to be played in the middle of last month but it has to be postponed because of City's international call-ups.

City head into the game five matches unbeaten in the league following Saturday's goalless draw at Millwall, while Blackpool's entertaining 4-3 loss at Bury at the weekend was their first defeat in six.

Parkinson said: "We are expecting this game (vs Blackpool) to be another tough test for us. It will be our third game on the trot against the sides who came down from the Championship last season.

"They will be ready to fight for every ball after their defeat to Bury, and we have to be ready for that.

"We need to maintain the standards we have set in recent weeks.

"The players will take the plaudits from some of our recent performances and results but now we need to push on again.

"Preparations for this game began as soon as we got on the coach home from Millwall.

"Tuesday's game is a big one for us and we are really looking forward to it.

"We have to be 'full on' in the game from the very start.

"The lads put in a lot of hard work at the weekend at Millwall to set ourselves up for this match and we have to be really ready for this.

"We'll be reminding the lads of some of the good things they did from the Bury home match.

"Blackpool have been on a good run of form of late and they recovered well after a slow start at Bury.

"We expect Blackpool to come and make it difficult for us but we'll have to be patient and show quality with our final ball."
