The Bantams produced another fine away-day performance to deservedly defeat Scunthorpe United and further extend their unbeaten run in the process.

For the second game in succession, Tony McMahon and Greg Leigh netted the goals for City, who named new loan signing Jordan Bowery in their starting line up.

A first half penalty from McMahon was added to after the break by Leigh as the left back's great finish seven minutes in the second period capped off a cracking start to the half from Parkinson's men.

The victory - the club's third straight success in the league and fourth away win of the season - increased City's recent unbeaten to nine games, with the Bantams also keeping a sixth-clean sheet on the trot.

City's latest shut-out was helped in part by some crucial saves from Ben Williams, including two quick-fire blocks to repel Gary McSheffrey and Neal Bishop with the score still goalless in the first half.

The Bantams won a penalty midway through the first half when Reid was bumped over from behind by McSheffrey inside the box as the winger followed up his own saved shot.

Fresh from his successful spot-kick against Aldershot Town in the FA Cup on Wednesday, McMahon made no mistake again when he rifled the ball high down the middle of Luke Daniels' goal.

Parkinson's men had already seen a good penalty shout turned down before their opener when Billy Clarke appeared to be tugged back by Bishop as Reid fizzed the ball across the six yard box with only twelve minutes on the clock.

Expecting a strong home response, City came out after the break with their foot fully down on the accelerator to force Scunthorpe back.

Parkinson's men had already seen debutant Bowery force Daniels into a decent save early after the interval before a great passing move involving Leigh and Billy Clarke was finished off with a great angled drive into the far bottom corner by the defender.

Scunthorpe understandably made attacking changes after Leigh's effort, with Dutch substitute Kevin van Veen having a glancing header from a corner pushed away by a smart save from Williams.

The Dutchman also fired narrowly from inside the box after being teed up by fellow replacement Luke Williams but City, in truth, never really looked like relinquishing their well-earned winning position as time ticked down.

FT: Scunthorpe United 0 Bradford City 2
90+5min: Evans' fierce rising drive outside the area is tipped over by Daniels.
90+3min: Madden cushions a header back to van Veen but the striker's effort just outside the box is mistimed and the ball bobbles harmlessly wide for a Bantams goal-kick.
90+3min: Billy Clarke's pass in-field finds Evans and the Welsh midfielder's low drive from the edge of the box is held by his near post by Daniels.
90min: There will be five minutes of time added on at the end of the match.

75min: YELLOW CARD - Bishop is booked for arguing with referee Mr Stockbridge following the award of a throw-in against Scunthorpe.
70min: YELLOW CARD - McArdle is cautioned kicking the ball away as City are awarded a free-kick inside their own box when Madden is flagged offside.
67min: Williams pulls the ball back to the waiting van Veen from the byline but the Dutchman somehow fires narrowly wide of the near post with a low drive from around ten yards out.
65min: van Veen connects with Luke Williams' resulting corner delivery but the attacker's glancing near post header is pushed away by Ben Williams before Bowery can kick clear.
65min: Madden fires a teasing low cross across the box and McArdle has to stick out a leg to divert the ball up and onto the roof of Williams' net for a Scunthorpe corner.
63min: Williams' long kick forward eventually drops into the path of Billy Clarke but the striker's rising effort on the bounce from just inside the area flies over the bar.
62min: Wiseman's cross towards the near post finds substitute van Veen but the Dutchman's connection isn't clean and the ball dribbles through to Ben Williams.
61min: SUBS - Scunthorpe bring on Kevin van Veen and Luke Williams for Henderson and McSheffrey.
60min: McMahon's fizzing delivery into the box from a wide position finds Nathan Clarke in space but the defender can't quite get his body position sorted and Scunthorpe can eventually clear.
58min: As City clear a Scunthorpe corner, Reid wins the ball off last-man Scott Wiseman by the half-way line. Reid surges towards Scunthorpe's penalty area but the home right back does well to stay with City's speedy winger and deflect his eventual strike for goal up and behind for a corner.
52min: GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!! Scunthorpe United 0 Bradford City 2 - Greg Leigh doubles City's lead with a well-taken finish! Latching onto Billy Clarke's forward pass into the box, Leigh strides onto the ball before rifling in a fine low drive past Daniels and into the far bottom corner!
50min: McMahon tries his luck from an angle around 20 yards out but his rising effort sails high over Daniels' bar before hitting the scoreboard behind his goal.
48min: Latching onto a forward pass, Bowery turns inside onto his left foot inside the area before firing in a low angled drive which Daniels repels by his near post.
47min: A neat one-two between McMahon and Stephen Darby down City's right flank eventually sees the former finds Billy Clarke with a low cross into the box. The Irishman tries to turn into space for a clear sight of goal but he slips while doing so and can only toe-poke an effort at Daniels.
46min: Scunthorpe restart the match.
HT: Scunthorpe United 0 Bradford City 1
45+1min: YELLOW CARD - Rowe is booked for hauling down Billy Clarke as the striker looked to surge towards Scunthorpe's penalty area. Lee Evans' resulting free-kick from around 25 yards out hits the wall and Scunthorpe can clear.
45min: There will be one minute of time added on at the end of the first half.
45min: Daniels' long kick forward from a Scunthorpe free-kick deep inside their own half eventually drops to Madden around the edge of the box but the attacker's drive on the half-volley is wayward.
44min: Bowery uses his strength to out-muscle Niall Canavan for possession of the ball over by the far touchline. Bowery plays the ball across the area to the waiting Billy Clarke but the Irishman's right-footed effort isn't clean and the shot dribbles wide of Daniels' far post.
42min: Tommy Rowe's header finds Madden in a wide position inside the box but the Scunthorpe attacker's side-footed effort straight on the volley sails over the bar by Williams' near post.
33min: Billy Clarke's clever back-heel plays Gary Liddle into space inside the box. From a wide position, Liddle pulls the ball back towards the edge of the box but it rolls in between the waiting McMahon and Reid and Scunthorpe can clear.
28min: GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!! - Scunthorpe United 0 Bradford City 1 - McMahon converts the penalty by firing high into the net down the middle of Daniels' goal.
26min: PENALTY TO THE BANTAMS! Reid wins a penalty for City! The winger fires in a low drive from just inside the box that Daniels repels by his near post. Reid is first onto the loose ball, however, and he is bundled over from behind by McSheffrey near to the byline.
20min: Leading a bright City counter-attack, Reid fires the ball low across the six yard box from a wide position and an alert Scott Laird has to slide behind for a corner to prevent Billy Clarke from tapping in at the far post.

17min: Gary McSheffrey comes in-field from his left flank position to take a shot with his right foot but his rising effort just outside the box sails comfortably high and wide into the packed away stand behind Williams' goal.
16min: Bowery's shot from just inside the area is blocked by the diving frame of David Mirfin. Tony McMahon tries his luck from slightly further out as the ball breaks free towards him but his cross-come-shot ends up a couple of yards over.
12min: As Scunthorpe try to clear their lines following a Nathan Clarke throw-in into the area, Reid fizzes the ball across the six yard box with some menace from a wide position inside the box. Billy Clarke throws himself at the ball looking for an almost certain tap in but he just misses out on making a connection. The Irishman claims he was pulled back as he appeared to reach the ball but play is allowed to continue.
9min: Henderson's looping effort from just inside the box takes a deflection off Rory McArdle and a back-pedaling Ben Williams has to make sure and tip over.
5min: Billy Clarke plays Jordan Bowery into space on City's left flank before the loanee striker crosses low into the centre towards Kyel Reid. The Bantams winger goes to connect with the ball from around ten yards out but the swing of his left boot barely gets a meaningful touch on the cross and Scunthorpe can clear.
3min: Tony McMahon forces Luke Daniels to tip over with a dipping effort direct from a free-kick around 30 yards out.
1min: Scunthorpe go close early doors when Darius Henderson's cross finds the lurking Paddy Madden in space. Madden lobs the ball over the advancing Ben Williams but the effort lands wide of the goal and a stretching Neal Bishop can only head behind from a tight angle.
