BRADFORD CITY 2 BURY 1

20 October 2015

Tuesday 20 October 2015
Sky Bet League 1
Bradford City 2 (McArdle 45+1, Brown O.G 51)
Bury 1 (Rose 90+4)
Kick Off: 7.45pm
at the Coral Windows Stadium

The Bantams secured their third league win on the trot with a gutsy, but deserved, victory over in-form Bury.

The Shakers had come into their visit to the Coral Windows Stadium eleven matches unbeaten in Sky Bet League 1 but two City set-piece goals ended that run and grabbed all three points for Phil Parkinson's men.

City's opener came on the stroke of half-time when Rory McArdle headed home Tony McMahon's corner for his first goal of the season.

The Bantams' second arrived shortly after the break when another McMahon corner delivery bounced off former Bantams loanee Reece Brown to register an own goal and double City's advantage.

Bury did pull a goal back deep into stoppage time through substitute Danny Rose's late volley but City weren't to be denied their second home victory of the season.

The only down point of the evening came when Steven Davies limped off shortly after City's second goal with a suspected medial knee ligament injury.

25min: Kyel Reid's ball into the box finds Devante Cole lurking but the striker's effort for goal hits up off Riley, meaning the ball pops up nicely for Rob Lainton to grab.
24min: Mellis plays the ball behind McArdle to give Leon Clarke a sight of goal inside the box. Clarke's low left-footed effort is saved by Williams - the offside flag is already, however, meaning any goal there would have been chalked off anyway.
