EMIRATES FA CUP FIRST ROUND DRAW THIS MONDAY

26 October 2015

The draw for the first round of this season's Emirates FA Cup will take place this Monday (26 October 2015) evening.

The first round draw will take place live from the clubhouse at nearby Thackley Juniors FC on BBC Two this Monday. The show will begin from 7:00pm.

The Bantams will be ball SIX in the hat, with City legend Stuart McCall on hand to help make the draw.

Bantams boss Phil Parkinson, City's Chief Operating Officer James Mason and former striker Ian Ormondroyd - now in charge of the club's community foundation - are also scheduled to be in the crowd at Thackley.

First round ties are scheduled to take place on the weekend of 7/8 November 2015.

City defeated FC Halifax Town 2-1 in the first round last season before eventually bowing out at the quarter-final stage, losing a replay at Championship side Reading.

Thackley's Dennyfields ground was actually chosen to host the first round draw partly due to City's amazing FA Cup exploits attracting the nation's attention during the 2014/2015 campaign.

Mark Cole, BBC lead executive football, explained: "Bradford City were the stand-out giant-killers in the competition last season, so we thought it fitting to base the first-round draw at a local community club."

Along with Phil Parkinson's Bantams, all other Sky Bet League 1 and League 2 sides will enter the FA Cup at the first round stage.

As many as 39 non-league sides have battled their way into Monday's draw following the final round of qualifying at the weekend, including FC Halifax and Guiseley who drew 2-2 at The Shay on Saturday.
