MATCHDAY SUPPORT PARTNER UP WITH CITY

22 September 2015

Matchday Support's aim is to get children and young people to football, who otherwise wouldn't have that opportunity.

They kindly ask people to nominate other people to go and they try to encourage family members to go with them.

Through young carers associations, disabled associations, youth clubs, schools, Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United, they're working with social care in Sheffield.

They have sponsored the Bradford City v Sheffield United for two successive seasons now, including last Sunday's dramatic 2-2 draw in front of the Sky cameras.

This year they have started their own grassroots football team called 'MDS Falcons'. The players aren't charged subs to play and they brought partners
in to sponsor the team. At the moment they have 4 boys' teams and a girls' team and they are trying to form a disability team.

Despite being a Sheffield established company, the people at Matchday Support are trying to make links in the Bradford Community, to further afield the aims and goals of the company. Matchday Support are currently owners of 6 season tickets in the North West corner here at The Coral Windows Stadium; that includes 4 adult tickets and 2 junior tickets.

Matchday Support are looking to start working with Junior Bantams as well as Bradford City Disability FC and encourages people wanting to use those tickets to contact them directly: jade@matchdaysupport.co.uk

Everywhere they go, they are looking to develop strong links with football, with the hope of free football for all in every City with the hope of getting businesses involved too.

For this, they fundraise in various forms, including framed shirt auction offs. They are looking to have evenings with the likes of Stuart McCall, Matt Duke and Paul Tomlinson.

They want to raise the profile of what they're doing and move onwards and upwards and they are looking to get involved with more football clubs.

Not many people can afford to play/watch football. They have around 8 workers and the potential is huge. They have invited to work with Hull KR next season. Their hope is to cover every sport, and all 92 Football League clubs.
