SWINDON MATCH PREVIEW: EARLY TEAM NEWS

8 April 2016

The Bantams entertain Swindon Town at the Coral Windows Stadium this Saturday looking for their fourth win on the trot in Sky Bet League 1.

Despite seeing his side secure a trio of victories and clean sheets from their last three games though, City boss Phil Parkinson still has some pleasing selection decisions on his hands ahead of kick off (3:00pm).

Having scored the winner from the bench in City's last two home games, Steven Davies will be eager to force his way into Parkinson's starting XI.

Rory McArdle is another player looking for a recall after making a successful return from injury in City's reserves game at Wigan Athletic this Tuesday.

The influential defender played 90 minutes in the 2-2 draw with the Latics - his first action since dislocating his shoulder at Bury towards the start of last month.

Paul Anderson took a whack to his ankle during the same Final Third Development League fixture but he is expected to be fit for the weekend.

City do have a couple of other knocks within the camp, however, that will need to be assessed pre-match.

For opponents Swindon, they will be without the trio of Jeremy Balmy, Drissa Traore and Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill after all three were suspended by Swindon pending an investigation into their recent conduct off the field.

As a result, Ormonde-Ottewill's place at left wing-back in Swindon's expected 3-5-2 formation will most likely be taken by Jamie Brophy. Traore and Balmy would have probably been named on the bench at Valley Parade before their suspension.

Swindon come into Saturday's game with a doubt over top scorer Nicky Ajose after he sat out Tuesday night's defeat at Oldham Athletic with a hamstring problem.

After missing recent games through injury, Jonathan Obika (hamstring) and Fabien Robert (knock) are also doubtful but Robins boss Luke Williams hinted during the week that the pair may have a chance of making the bench.

Swindon skipper Nathan Thompson will definitely be in Williams' plans for the game after the defender recently served out a three-match ban for a red card picked up in their home defeat to Wigan Athletic on Good Friday.

Iraqi midfielder Yaser Kasim is currently sidelined with a knee problem.
