REF WATCH - PETERBOROUGH UNITED (AWAY)

12 August 2016

The man in charge for City’s visit to Peterborough United this Saturday (13 August 2016) afternoon will be match official Darren Handley.

Handley has taken charge of two games already this season. The first was an opening day clash between Swindon Town and Coventry City at the County Ground where the hosts came out on top by a goal to nil; he booked three players that day.

During the week, he oversaw one of the upsets of the first round of the EFL Cup at St. Andrews, with hosts Birmingham City losing by a goal to nil and the hands of League One new-boys, Oxford United.

Handley took charge of 32 matches last season including City’s 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Gillingham last August. He mainly took charge of League Two and League One fixtures but officiated four Championship matches too.

Refereeing at Conference level until making his full EFL breakthrough during the 2014-15 season, the Bantams' defeat to Gillingham in the early stages of last season is the only Bradford City fixture he has refereed.

The Lancashire-based referee will be assisted by David Benton and Christopher Ward, with Ravel Cheosiaua as the fourth official.
