CITY BRING SOME EARLY FESTIVE CHEER

13 December 2016

The Bantams visited the children's wards at the Bradford Royal Infirmary on Monday to bring some early Christmas cheer to local juniors and their families.

The vast majority of City's first team squad were on hand to make the visit and spread some festive spirit with just under two weeks to go until the big day.

City's players posed for photographs, signed autographs and stopped to chat with the children, their parents and the nurses, who give expert care and support on a daily basis to the kids on the wards.

The group also gave out the presents that have been kindly donated recently by supporters and club partners.

On a busy Monday for the Bantams, the squad also stopped off for a bite to eat at the Westgate Social Club following their visit to the BRI.

The squad then capped off the day by attending the club's annual Christmas Carol Service at St Michael & All Angels Church in Shelf in the evening.

City boss Stuart McCall and defender Stephen Darby were among those to give readings during the service.

The Club would like to thank all the fans who took the time to donate a present to the recent Christmas Toy Appeal.

The football club would also like to show their appreciation to Michael Heslop at Just Sport, Mitton Group, Petherbridge Bassra, AutoElectro, T L Dallas, Smith Butler and Keybury Fire and Security, along with Becky Doyle - wife of Bantams goalkeeper Colin - for their help and support.

On top of the presents given out at the BRI, a number of gifts have also been donated to the 'Queensbury Together' event, which will take place this Saturday (17 December) at the Shibden Head Nursery.

The event will aim to help those in need this festive period with the donation of food hampers and gifts.
