The Bantams' French midfielder Timothee Dieng says he feels ready for the club's bumper schedule coming up over the festive period.

After entertaining league leaders Scunthorpe United on Boxing Day, City then play host to Bury on New Year's Eve before travelling to Northampton Town just two days later in their next three games.

Injury issues aside, Dieng is likely to feature heavily in those matches for the Bantams after starting sixteen of City's last eighteen league fixtures.

Dieng originally moved to England from his native France back in 2014 after signing for Oldham Athletic, and this season's Christmas period is set to be his third on these shores.

The French leagues, like a lot of other European divisions, have adopted a winter break in the past but Dieng says he now feels comfortable with the English tradition of playing over the holiday season.

Dieng said: "In England, this time of year is special because there is no break.

"I remember my first year here (England) was a bit hard because there is a break in France, but now I am used to it.

"My family will come over for Christmas this year so they will be here with me.

"It is a busy schedule for us but that is the tradition of English football.

"You have to stay focused during this period because we have a lot of games.

"In France, there are less games so they have a break in the winter and that maybe gives you the opportunity to eat a bit more and relax.

"It is different over here, however, and you have to keep fit and be ready.

"We are looking forward to the games and hopefully making the fans happy."
